Our phenomenal and awe-inspiring head coach, Jane Joof, has won the Gambia Football Coaches Association Coach of the Month of April/May 2023 after guiding the petroleum boys in acquiring 13 out of 15 points in the second round of the Gambia Football Federation Division One League.
Regarded as one of the best developmental coaches in the country, Jane has molded himself as one of the most respected coaches in the country over the years, shaping the lives of young players and turning raw talents into national team footballers.
This award is Jane’s second in the 2023 GFF Division One league, having won it in January.
Speaking to Fortunefc.gm, the smart tactician said he is elated to have won another award. He said the award will further push him to renew his commitment as a head coach.
“I am delighted once again for winning the April/May 2023 Coach of the Month Award, which is the second time in the season. It is a great motivation in my career.
“This also came at a time when the team regained more strength at the beginning of the second round with consistency of winning 13 points out of possible 15 from 5 matches. This was achieved through handwork from the players, technical team and management,” he acknowledged.
The award-winning coach went further:
“The award which I won many times in previous years further pushes me to keep up the spirit of handwork and commitment.”
Since the inception of the award, no coach has won it more that Jane. He dedicated the award to the Fortune Football Club family.
The petroleum boys finished 3rd in the 2023 Gambia Football Federation Division One League season.
In 2021, Jane steered Fortune Football Club to its inaugural league triumph, winning the domestic league in style.
